One Church, One Faith, One Baptism

Posted: August 28, 2010 in The "Church"

You often hear people say that they are part of “The Church.” However, the Bible states that there is ONLY ONE Church, ONE Faith, ONE Baptism. (Eph 4.5). Of course through content analysis of a number of scriptures, we know that “Church” does not mean building, but a body of people joined together by the same doctrine and belief system. So what is the Church? Better yet, who is the Church? If you look at religions and religious denominations, many of them have contradicting doctrines. Is there confusion among the “True Church”? Does God except people just because they say that they believe in him? The Book of Matthews Chapter 15: 8-9 states:

This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.9But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
